Inflate Tires To The Pressure Shown On The Tire's Sidewall.

Inflate tires to the pressure shown on the tire's sidewall.

THIS IS NOT TRUE!

- The pounds-per-square-inch figure on the side of the tire is the maximum pressure that the tire can safely hold, not the automaker's recommended pressure, which provides the best balance of braking, handling, gas mileage, and ride comfort.
- That figure is usually found on a doorjamb sticker, in the glove box, or on the fuel-filler door.
- Perform a monthly pressure check when tires are cold or after the car has been parked for a few hours.

Using Synthetic Oil Voids The Car Warranty

Using synthetic oil voids the car warranty

- Unless the car manual says synthetic oil should not be used in the vehicle.
- As long as the synthetic oil meets the requirements in the vehicle manual it is safe to use without jeopardizing the warranty.

There are certain driving conditions where retreaded tires should not be driven.

THIS IS NOT TRUE!
- Retreaded tires can be driven wherever comparable new tires can be driven.
- The only restriction is on the steer axle of buses hauling passengers.

Is Everything Is Replaced When The Transmission Is Rebuild?

Is everything replaced inside the transmission when the transmission is rebuild?

THIS IS NOT TRUE!
- How much does it cost to just replace everything?
- This is one of most common questions we hear. No none replaces everything with new.
- Beware when someone says this to you. If everything is replaced it is a brand new transmission

What Gear Should I Drive My Car On?

What Gear Should I Drive My Car On? .

Drive cars with automatic transmissions around town in "3" and save "D" for the highway.
THIS IS NOT TRUE!
- The original idea was that drivers needed to lock out the highest gear for more responsive performance in stop-and-go driving.
- Most modern vehicles employ transmissions that are quick to kick down into a lower gear, so driving without the topmost gear around town only lowers gas mileage.

Is Thicker Fiberglass Better?

Is thicker fiberglass better?
THIS IS NOT TRUE!
- Thickness does not necessarily equal strength. There are many other factors from materials to manufacturing techniques that come into play.
- Some of the cheap low-quality kits are made of thick strong fiberglass.
- This can be a disadvantage as the overly rigid part is harder to install, especially if the fitment is even slightly off.

Is It Safe To Extend The Time Between Oil Changes?

THIS IS NOT TRUE!

- According to the definitions in the owner's manuals, most of us drive vehicles in "severe" service conditions. The oil change intervals in these demanding conditions are about half as long as normal intervals.

- Stop-and-go, short-trip, inner city driving creates very tough conditions for an engine oil.

- I advise against extending any OEM engine oil drain interval recommendations for any type of service.

Should I Keep My Car Doors Unlock In Case Of An Accident?

Should I Keep My Car Doors Unlock In Case Of An Accident?

Keep your doors unlocked so rescuers can get you out after an accident...have you come across something like this too?

THIS IS NOT TRUE!

- Unlocked doors are more likely to open during a collision and allow occupant ejection and ejections kill 10,000 people each year.

- The doors in many modern vehicles automatically unlock following airbag deployment, and even if they remain locked, rescuers can break the windows to get to passengers.

- This is a far better prospect than tracking down victims ejected during the impact.
